Canadian Social Media Date Calendar
Oct 2026 to Sep 2027
About The Narrative Refinery

Strategy-first content that feels like you.
How to use this calendar
Use this as a planning aid when you build your content calendar. It lists the dates worth having on your radar from October 2026 through September 2027, each with one loose idea to get a post started.
It is not meant to dictate your whole social strategy. Your goals, your offers and your own story still lead. Think of these days as inspiration for content around moments that are relevant and meaningful to your target audience, and skip anything that does not fit them or your brand.
Bend every idea to your niche. Fixed dates are exact. Dates that follow the lunar or religious calendars are marked as expected, because a moon sighting can shift them by a day, and a date that only applies in some provinces names the province.
A red marker beside a date means a respectful post. No promotion.
October 2026
Two anchors this month. Thanksgiving on Oct 12 and Halloween on Oct 31. Plan around those and the rest slots in.
| Date | What it is | Loose content idea |
|---|---|---|
| All month | Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Women's History Month and Cyber Security Awareness Month | Pick the one that actually fits your brand and own it. A weekly tip is plenty, like a quick security checklist for small shops or a woman who shaped your industry |
| Fri Oct 9 to Mon Oct 12 | Thanksgiving long weekend, with Canadian Thanksgiving on Mon Oct 12 | Name three clients and the one thing each taught you. Add your long weekend hours so nobody shows up to a locked door |
| Sat Oct 10 | World Mental Health Day | A quiet post about how you protect your own time off. No promo, no ask |
| Sun Oct 11 | International Day of the Girl | Spotlight a young person you have mentored or a girl-led business you admire. Names beat a vague shout-out |
| Fri Oct 16 | World Food Day | Show where your ingredients or materials come from. One quick supplier shout-out does it |
| Sun Oct 18 | Persons Day | A short history post on the Famous Five and the women who changed Canadian business. Keep it tight and let the story do the work |
| Sat Oct 31 | Halloween | A team costume reel or a treat for customers. Post a few days early so people can actually plan |
